Monthly Goal Check-in :: Wins, Milestones and Progress from September
SeptemberGoalcheckIn.jpg

I’ll be honest, this month was a challenge. One of those where you just feel like it’s one thing after another. The good, the bad, and the emotionally draining.

I’ve been hammering this message in a lot during the pandemic but this month I needed it for myself too… The reminder that even when things are tough, there is still plenty of good.

When we’re overwhelmed it can be easy to fall into a negative fog and only focus on what has gone wrong or things that are stressing us out. The quote, “you find what you’re looking for” really rings true here.

Despite the challenges this year has brought all of us though, I want to encourage you to also make time to acknowledge some of the good. For me, I do this during my monthly check-ins where I not only reflect on my goals but also life in general. It’s a time to pause. A time to reflect. A time to realign and refocus.

Admittedly, this month I fell short on quite a few things I set out to do. Life happens and there were things I needed to hit the pause button on so I could reprioritize. Truthfully, I was even dreading doing this month’s check-in. When I did though, I realized that even with all of the curveballs I still had quite a few wins. Wins that had I not actually taken the time to reflect on probably would have just fallen through the cracks.

This month I...

  1. Celebrated my 10 year blogging anniversary — Ten freaking years guys!

  2. Hosted our 3rd session of our Social Media Business Bootcamp at @BoldandPop

  3. Completely booked up design projects for September and was able to sign projects for October and November

  4. Hosted my first virtual meetup with @TacomaBossLadies to chat about Q4 goal planning

Mapped out my personal focuses for Q4 and Q1 and put together a launch calendar

So whether you came out of last month feeling like you crushed it or you were totally on the struggle bus, I encourage you to take a few mins to check-in. You likely deserve more credit than you’re giving yourself. We’re often our own toughest critics and acknowledging those wins (even when they’re small) can be instrumental in pushing us forward.💗

Why do I do goal check-ins?

I started doing goal check-ins publically as a personal accountability challenge. Working on my goals and strategies to accomplish them have always been really important and by sharing them I felt an extra weight of commitment. Plus, I wanted a way to try and encourage others to have their own check-ins and keep working on their own goals. Helping others reach their dreams has always felt like my purpose and by being vulnerable and sharing the journey of my own I hope to inspire others as well.

Time for some Monthly Goal Check-In action!

I set some BIG goals for myself and got ish done so I'm coming out of this month feeling pretty damn good! Here's a breakdown of some of the wins I'm most proud of:

Hit my goal of writing 12 blog posts this month

I'll be honest, this was an ambitious goal for me but frankly, I wanted to push the limits to prove to myself that I could do it, and I DID! 💪 Guys, that was more blog posts in a month than I wrote in all of 2019.😱 Giving my blog more attention this year has been a big priority of mine and it feels good to be making it happen.

Launched my Get Your Goals page on my website + my first set of worksheets!

For the last year, I've been adding ideas to a Google Doc with different course ideas, blog posts, and a whole lot of other things and this was the month I made it official! P.S. you can check it out here!

Hit Monthly Income Goal at Bold & Pop for the first time since the pandemic

We hit the monthly income goal I set for our biz for the first time since the pandemic started and I just have all the happy tears about it 😭😭😭 Real talk, this year has been really tough being a small business owner. And while it won't be a year we break records, the fact that we've survived, gotten creative, and are growing again just has me feeling every level of grateful.

Added a new Page on Bold & Pop’s website for Social Media Businesses

We added a new page on the Bold & Pop website specifically for social media biz owners. Now you can sign-up for the waitlist for our next Social Media Business Bootcamp, browse our business templates, check out the other workshops we teach, and read helpful blog posts all in one spot.

made time for rest

With all of that progress comes the need for rest too. We made the goal of each taking a min of 20 days off this year, because we realized we were hardly taking any days off. After COVID, admittedly I let this goal slide because we've been in survival mode, but this month I took time off + scheduled the rest of my days for the year.

That's a wrap for me, here's your monthly reminder to take some time to celebrate some of your own wins (big and small) too! If you need some help with your check-ins or setting yourself up for success for the next month, I also have free worksheets that can help!

July Monthly Goal Check-in coming in hot! 🔥🔥🔥

Finished our backyard makeover!

With most of the muscle coming from Evan and the decor and finishing touches by me! I’m very excited that I can stop obsessing over it (many months of that) and now we can enjoy it instead! Which by the way, if you didn’t catch the reveal you can check it out here!

Got on my ish when it came to stepping it up on my blog

I cranked out 9 posts this month and planned out my updated blog schedule, which is pretty lofty for August so watch out!. I also had my first affiliate sales with my new networks (small, but still exciting!), increased my Pinterest monthly viewers from 5k to 27k+ and planned out some exciting goal-related content and resources I'm going to be launching SOON!

Had a really productive month at Bold & Pop

We had a very productive month at Bold & Pop and I’m feeling so optimistic and excited about the direction we're headed in. We banged out 4 Squarespace website design projects, signed 5 new projects and hosted our 2nd Social Media Business Bootcamp with such a great group of women! I also want to celebrate that we've increased our passive and workshop income by 10x since adding new offerings. The pandemic has been rough but it forced us to move forward with a lot of things and I'm excited to have new ways to serve others.

Upped my nutrition and fitness plan

Consistency has always been my downfall when it comes to both of these — isn’t that the case with so many of us! So it feels good to be able to up my game again after sticking with it. Hitting weekly goals week after week has me inching forward little by little and it feels good.

Was Featured on CEO Blog Nation

I've been working on my own PR strategy this summer and landed a press mention in CEO Blog Nation on a story about entrepreneurial curriculums. I submitted 5 other inquiries to some big pubs. Go big or go home is my current press motto.

Finished my 11/12 Book this Year

This month I got back into my reading routine, which I had taken a hiatus from for a few months and finished the 11th book of my 12 book goal for the year. So def going to need to up that one. To those of you who read a lot that might not seem like a lot.. but guys, there were years that went by that I didn’t finish a single book. 🙃 And I know tht isn’t a priority for many, but there were actually a lot of books I wanted to read — mostly non-fiction — so I’ve really enjoyed it being part of my routine. Plus, truthfully it’s such a Godsend in actually helping me go to sleep at night, so it’s kind of a double-purpose goal. I shared some of my favorites I’ve read this year so far in this post too!

Added another title to my life this month

Then on the personal side of things, I added a new title this month. There have been a lot the last few months too. First it was Puppy Mom, then Aunty and now Fiancé. Very exciting! I shared the details of our engagement on this post too!

Hope you guys made it through the month okay too! Just surviving these days is an accomplishment, let's be real... So be sure to give yourself some grace and check-in to celebrate your own small and big wins you made this month!
